Grandkids with Auntie Margot
I'm so lucky!

I was watching a woman with her children at the mall, she was fat! I look back at my adult life and realize how I must have embarrassed my children with my weight problem, how I wish I had known what to do about the problem. I hope I was a good mother, I tried so hard. My four children are successful, grounded, compassionate and beautiful, I couldn't ask for anything more AND they have the most wonderful children, spouses and friends.

I am trying soooo hard to get my act together now, I get lonely sometimes and frightened too.

Summer Is Ending

Thank God! For some reason I never do well in summer, I like more structure. My children and grandchildren are all well and I think happy, it amazes me how much love I have to give, the more our family expands the more love I feel.

My time this month and next is spent on Grotonfest, Vlingo, The Herald and Around Town, it's been a lot easier this week, working in the Sheldon and Sullivan office while Connie is away gives me time in one place, next week will be the same schedule.

My friend Robert in NYC is having major health problems, I speak with him almost every day, he's so stubborn and probably not doing everything he should do for his Diabetes and everything else. Kind of makes me take better care of myself knowing how hard it is when you get older.

I'm so looking forward to celebrating Will's birthday and mine on Friday evening, it's been hard getting everyone together this year but Will is 30 and we need to celebrate.

Always A Mom

I know I try the patience of my family by trying to be too involved in their lives, I can't help it! Maybe because I raised them mostly by myself I feel so close to each of them and wish I could do more.

Beautiful Day

After having a terrible dose of food poisoning or something, I woke up to a beautiful day, washing away the night before.

My son JC is now forty, what an interesting and smart guy, and the best husband and father. Watching three out of four children at the Cape party on Saturday made me so proud. Lizzie stayed in Newton with her family, she is a fantastic mom. Maxine, Oskar and Grey seemed to be having a great time, the food was the best and even Roo and Mister (Jc & Margot's dogs) got along fine. Amanda and Hannah looked so lovely, loved Hannah's new bangs, and it was such a pleasure to spend time with Hannah's sister Heather.

I'm looking forward to a birthday luncheon tomorrow for Margot's birthday which is the first day of spring on Sunday. I'm planning to see Katherine, William and JuJu (the dog) later in the day. Can't wait! I miss my son-in-law Brian, he works so hard and our paths don't often cross.

Happy St. Patrick's day to all and let's hope the people in Japan have some peace in the near future.

Bags

Last night we had a family dinner (minus the Newton family and the beautiful but under the weather Hannah) at the Elephant Walk in Cambridge. My oldest child, JC, told me my blog was too, well, obnoxious! I need to say what I feel but I'll try and lift the mood now.

I love high end bags. I know my stuff and really enjoy finding great deals, not only on bags but cashmere, shoes and great costume jewelry. I think I should start to do this for a living, or at least part of one. I'm very good at this. Right now I'm listing a $1200 Carlos Falchi snakeskin and butter soft leather shoulder bag on Ebay for $275!!! It's an amazing piece, purple and black.

We had a lovely time last night, Maxine, Oscar and Grey were very well behaved. The food was, as always, amazing. I always feel so much warmth at this restaurant and my daughter Margot, because of her association there, makes sure I am happy.

Can't wait for spring this year,  wait, is that the sun?????

Scoliosis!!!

So how is it possible to go through 65 years and not know I have a spine like a "race car track"!  Three hours on a table lying still is not picnic but it's done. Now to hear what the doctor has to say, it was the technician who told me about the scoliosis.

Hoping to get back to the pool next week, best thing ever for my body but I really dislike the getting out of the pool, showering and getting dressed part! Not the most appealing dressing room, but I have to push myself to go.

Special Town Meeting on Monday sounds like it will be great entertainment, amazing how many closed minded people live in Groton.

MRI

So I'm going to have an MRI on Wed and Friday to see if my back is causing the balance problems I have. Hopefully the results will allow me to walk again.

Trying to start a networking business, so many people call me for info, which I can usually give to them and I have great knowledge of high end bags and accessories from great consignment shops in and around Boston. Trying to figure out a way to charge for this.

Maxine is taking acting lessons, I'm hoping to introduce her to Garrett Haw currently in Mary Poppins, it would be terrific to take her backstage.

Trying to figure  out how to organize my day so I can do all of my work and volunteer obligations without so much stress.
