Bags

Last night we had a family dinner (minus the Newton family and the beautiful but under the weather Hannah) at the Elephant Walk in Cambridge. My oldest child, JC, told me my blog was too, well, obnoxious! I need to say what I feel but I'll try and lift the mood now.

I love high end bags. I know my stuff and really enjoy finding great deals, not only on bags but cashmere, shoes and great costume jewelry. I think I should start to do this for a living, or at least part of one. I'm very good at this. Right now I'm listing a $1200 Carlos Falchi snakeskin and butter soft leather shoulder bag on Ebay for $275!!! It's an amazing piece, purple and black.

We had a lovely time last night, Maxine, Oscar and Grey were very well behaved. The food was, as always, amazing. I always feel so much warmth at this restaurant and my daughter Margot, because of her association there, makes sure I am happy.

Can't wait for spring this year,  wait, is that the sun?????

Scoliosis!!!

So how is it possible to go through 65 years and not know I have a spine like a "race car track"!  Three hours on a table lying still is not picnic but it's done. Now to hear what the doctor has to say, it was the technician who told me about the scoliosis.

Hoping to get back to the pool next week, best thing ever for my body but I really dislike the getting out of the pool, showering and getting dressed part! Not the most appealing dressing room, but I have to push myself to go.

Special Town Meeting on Monday sounds like it will be great entertainment, amazing how many closed minded people live in Groton.

MRI

So I'm going to have an MRI on Wed and Friday to see if my back is causing the balance problems I have. Hopefully the results will allow me to walk again.

Trying to start a networking business, so many people call me for info, which I can usually give to them and I have great knowledge of high end bags and accessories from great consignment shops in and around Boston. Trying to figure out a way to charge for this.

Maxine is taking acting lessons, I'm hoping to introduce her to Garrett Haw currently in Mary Poppins, it would be terrific to take her backstage.

Trying to figure  out how to organize my day so I can do all of my work and volunteer obligations without so much stress.

Old

I guess it isn't unusual for a 65 year old woman to be frightened, but everything in my life seemed to change when my last child left home. I held myself together for 40 years and then all at once my body fell apart. Arthritis everywhere, using a walker, in pain 24 hours a day and still struggling financially. On top of all of this I moved into what I call 'ONE FOOT IN THE GRAVE" Willowdale, an affordable building for seniors and handicapped.
How could this happen to me? My parents did not prepare me for life AT ALL!

Okay, so here's the good stuff. JC, Liz, Margot and Will are the most amazing people I have ever met. Then Brian. Hannah and Amanda showed up, was it possible I could love them too? Wait a minute, Maxine, Oskar, Katherine and William arrived which filled my heart and soul with even more love, wait, Greyson, Amanda's terrific little guy, more love. Even Roo and Jumper, the dogs in my life, added love.

Now it's up to me, somehow I will fight to get back on my feet so I can be better then I ever was (not too hard to do I would think) and turn things around so my grandchildren will learn to respect and admire me.
