I guess it isn't unusual for a 65 year old woman to be frightened, but everything in my life seemed to change when my last child left home. I held myself together for 40 years and then all at once my body fell apart. Arthritis everywhere, using a walker, in pain 24 hours a day and still struggling financially. On top of all of this I moved into what I call 'ONE FOOT IN THE GRAVE" Willowdale, an affordable building for seniors and handicapped.
How could this happen to me? My parents did not prepare me for life AT ALL!
Okay, so here's the good stuff. JC, Liz, Margot and Will are the most amazing people I have ever met. Then Brian. Hannah and Amanda showed up, was it possible I could love them too? Wait a minute, Maxine, Oskar, Katherine and William arrived which filled my heart and soul with even more love, wait, Greyson, Amanda's terrific little guy, more love. Even Roo and Jumper, the dogs in my life, added love.
Now it's up to me, somehow I will fight to get back on my feet so I can be better then I ever was (not too hard to do I would think) and turn things around so my grandchildren will learn to respect and admire me.
